Supporting a Stronger Cape Ann

The Cape Ann License Plate is a beautiful Special Plate that represents the four communities of Cape Ann – Essex, Gloucester, Manchester-by-the-Sea and Rockport. This license plate initiative is being led by the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce as a fantastic way to show our love of Cape Ann, and to support the region with license plate proceeds sustaining our three key platforms: Promotion of Our Region, Economic Development and Education.

UPDATE

We are thrilled to announce that the new Cape Ann License Plates are on the road and are now available through the Registry of Motor Vehicles!

All initial applicants should be receiving letters from the Registry with information on how to swap your current plates for the new ones.  You will need to notify your insurance agent of your new plate number (found in the letter) and your insurance agent will give you a form to take with you to the Registry.  You will also need to take your old plates and there will be a one-time $20 swap fee.  The letter will tell you which Registry branch to go to for pick up.

Thanks to all of you who have supported this worthy endeavor. In addition to showing your love of Cape Ann every day, the $40 special plate fee (payable every other year with your registration renewal) is a charitable donation that will be directed to the Cape Ann Community Foundation and used to support regional promotion, economic development and education for Cape Ann.
